VTTK 1510 - Clinical Techniques I

Credits: 3

This course is intended for students seeking a veterinary aide certificate. Lectures will include general office procedures, client communication in the veterinary hospital, basic medical record keeping, OSHA and clinical sanitation, pharmaceutical calculations, basic understanding of common diseases and medical conditions seen in animals, surgical pack preparation, and surgical assistance. Students are required to complete a 40-hour externship in a veterinary clinic.

Course Note: This course requires a prescreen background check and a rabies vaccination series to be completed previously or at the same time as this course.
