VTTK 1640 - Large Animal Procedures

Credits: 1.5

This course will include lectures on procedures that veterinary technicians will utilize in large animal clinical practice. Food animal and equine procedures will be covered in lecture and then demonstrated and practiced in laboratory sessions. Topics included are animal behavior, physical exam, restraint, patient history, bandaging, IV catherizations, medication administration, venipuncture, nasogastric intubation, quality assurance, reproduction, and emergency medicine.

Course Note: This course requires a successful prescreen background check and completion of a rabies vaccination series.

Course Fees: $150
Prerequisite: VTTK 1500  and VTTK 1600 . Any prerequisite course must be completed with a grade of C or better.
Corequisite: VTTK-L020 must be taken at the same time as this course.
