MEDA 1520 - Clinical Role of the Medical Assistant I

Credits: 3

This course is designed to provide the student with the theory and practical applications associated with the clinical role of a medical assistant. Course topics will provide the students with the knowledge and skills necessary to assist the healthcare provider with routine and emergent medical care for patients in a variety of healthcare settings. The student will be required to complete a background check and drug screen.

Corequisite: MEDA-L001 must be taken at the same time as this course.
Pre/Corequisite: HLTK 0010   must be taken previously or at the same time as this course; and ZOO 1200   or ZOO 2015   must be completed with a grade of C or better; or ZOO 1200   or ZOO 2015   must be taken at the same time as this course.
